Wendy Seys
President
Wendy has been the Executive Director of the Yamaska Literacy Council since 2000.
Education: MA in Educational Studies from Concordia University.
Wendy has worked and volunteered in the not-for-profit adult literacy field since 1989. She worked for Laubach Literacy of Canada, a Pan-Canadian non-profit literacy organization from 1989-2000. Wendy currently serves on the Governing Board of the Eastern Townships Adult Education Centre, the Project Advisory Committee of the Community Empowerment Literacy Initiative, and the Board of Directors of the Knowlton Literary Association.
Marlene Dagenais
Vice President
Marlene has been the Executive Director of the Laurentian Literacy Centre since 2008. Education: BA in Political Science. Currently Vice-President of CRASLA: Regional English Access Committee in Health and Social Services in the Laurentians, Member of the Table jeunesse d’Argenteuil , Table d’adulte d’Argenteuil and Concertation des personnes ainées d’Argenteuil.
Joy Fyckes
Treasurer
Joy has experience since 1990 as executive director in the not for profit/charity field. She has been the Executive Director of RECLAIM since 2004.
Education: BA Specialization in Early Childhood Education, Quebec teaching diploma, Certificate in management, Certificate in legal practices.
Past board experience: treasurer of the Association of Early Chilhood Educators of Quebec for 15 years, treasurer of Literacy Volunteers of Quebec from 2005-2011. Joy is currently a member of the steering committee of the Anglo family council.
Sia Spanoudakis
Director
Sia is a divisional manager with over 25 years of experience driving operational best practices to enhance service levels and engagement. She leads with integrity, passion, and purpose. She is currently a Senior Manager for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, in the multi-unit mortgage insurance sector, since 2021. Prior to this, she was a Senior Manager in Investment Operations at the National Bank of Canada. For over 15 years, she held leadership roles at Manulife and Standard Life.
